Abrasion resistance of GPU Cables

Quality assurance and product safety of our GPU cables

As part of our continuous quality assurance and to ensure maximum product safety, our GPU cables with PUR and special polymer outer sheath materials have been subjected to an abrasion test in accordance with UL (Underwriters Laboratories) 2556:2021 and JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) C3005. The tests were carried out by the independent testing service provider TÜV.


Test procedure
UL 2556:2021 – Standard for Wire and Cable Test Methods

This US standard defines, among other things, test methods for assessing the abrasion resistance of cable insulation and sheathing. This involves applying controlled mechanical wear to the cable surface to test its resistance to physical stress.


JIS C3005
Japanese industrial standard for electrical cables

This standard also contains test requirements for evaluating the abrasion resistance of electrical cables, particularly under industrial and electrical conditions.

Test results
Our cables have successfully passed the abrasion tests according to UL 2556:2021 and JIS C3005.

The tests confirmed the outstanding quality and mechanical resilience of our 400Hz and 28V DC cables. Even under repeated mechanical stress, the insulation and outer sheath remained intact – without cracks, signs of wear or material failure.

Conclusion

The successful completion of abrasion tests by TÜV confirms the reliability and durability of our cables.
They meet the international requirements of both the US and Japanese markets and are ideal for use in demanding industrial applications worldwide.
