Sustainable cables for environmental monitoring – holistic requirements engineering at SAB Bröckskes. We demonstrate how sustainable cable solutions can be optimally tailored to the requirements of modern environmental monitoring systems through targeted requirements engineering.

The debate surrounding PFAS—polyfluoroalkyl substances—has been gaining momentum in Europe since 2020. Since then, the European Union has been examining possible regulations for this group of substances, which comprises over 10,000 different substances.

The SABorganic S 1000 cable, which is suitable for drag chains and can be twisted at 60°/m, has an outer jacket made of bio-based polyurethane. The new material is sourced from short, local supply chains and consists of 45% renewable raw materials.

Thanks to their high mechanical strength and resistance to environmental influences as well as their excellent oil and temperature resistance, high-voltage cables from SAB Bröckskes are ideal for the electrical connection of inverters and electric motors.

The OCT cables can be designed for pulsed power up to 16 kHz, have double EMC shielding and ensure low-loss transmission even over long cable runs thanks to their symmetrical design.
