R 107 - Highly Flexible High-Voltage Single Conductor for Railway Applications
The R 107 is a highly flexible, halogen-free high-voltage single conductor with Besilen® insulation for use as a power or earthing cable in electrically operated rail vehicles. Designed for 1.8/3.0 kV, the cable meets the requirements of EN 45545-2 for cables used in railway applications. Thanks to its temperature-resistant silicone insulation, the R 107 can withstand temperatures of up to +250 °C for short periods.
The fine-stranded copper conductor gives the R 107 excellent flexibility. This makes the high-voltage cable suitable for applications exposed to increased vibration and changing mechanical loads. Typical applications include earthing connections in coupling transitions or on bogies, as well as reliable power supply in third-rail current collectors and pantographs.
The combination of high flexibility, a wide operating temperature range and railway-specific fire safety properties makes the R 107 a suitable solution for demanding power and earthing connections in railway technology.
