R 107 translucent - Highly Flexible High-Voltage Single Conductor with Translucent Outer Sheath

The R 107 translucent is a highly flexible, halogen-free high-voltage single conductor with Besilen® insulation and a translucent outer sheath for use as a power or earthing cable in electrically operated rail vehicles. Designed for 1.8/3.0 kV, the cable meets the requirements of EN 45545-2 for railway applications. Thanks to its temperature-resistant silicone insulation, the R 107 translucent can withstand temperatures of up to +250 °C for short periods.

The super-fine-stranded copper conductor provides excellent flexibility. This makes the R 107 translucent suitable for applications exposed to increased vibration and changing mechanical loads. Typical applications include earthing connections in coupling transitions or on bogies, as well as reliable power supply in third-rail current collectors and pantographs.

The translucent outer sheath allows the condition of the conductor to be visually monitored and provides an additional advantage in applications where conductor inspection is important. The combination of high flexibility, a wide temperature range and railway-specific fire safety requirements makes the R 107 translucent a suitable solution for demanding power and earthing connections in railway technology.
